Attend Scheduled Skills Session
After completing the HeartCode BLS Online Course and printing the Certificate of Completion, Student then attends the scheduled Skills Session and receives a BLS Provider eCard that is valid for two years.

HeartCode BLS Online
The HeartCode BLS Online Course is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real-time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties. Utilizing a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, Cognitive Assessment Activities, illustrations, knowledge checks, and interactive activities, this program teaches BLS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency and adaptability to different learning styles. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each knowledge check and each Cognitive Assessment Activity.

Course Details

  • Length: Online class average 1.5 hours / Skills Session 45 minutes to one (1) hour
  • Students must bring a Certificate of Completion from an online class

The American Heart Association is authorized to offer AMA Credit Designation Statement to Physicians, AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement to Physician Assistants, AANP Credit Acceptance Statement to Nurse Practitioners, ANCC Credit Designation to Nurses, ACPE Credit Designation Statement to Pharmacists, Continuing Education Accreditation to Emergency Medical Services for the online portion of course. Credits are claimed on the AHA website but there are time limits of 30 days to 6 months depending on the accrediting agency.
