Workers in the medical field such as doctors, dentists, nurses, CNAs, medical assistants, medical students, EMT’s, police officers, firefighters, lifeguards, and more are all great examples of people who would be perfect for this course.

This class is for anyone working in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, EMS, nursing/medical schools, and more. If you do not work or study in the medical field, please consider a different course that is not specifically for medical workers.

BLS Healthcare Provider Instructor-Led Training

In the instructor led course, students work with an AHA BLS instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing which will train students to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. Students will also complete a written exam.

Heartcode BLS

This is a two part course. The first portion is completed online, and the second portion is a hands-on skills check. HeartCode BLS is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning (online portion), in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner. It is followed by a hands-on session which must be completed in person. HeartCode BLS includes 10 modules, 5 simulations, and 2 video tutorials.
